Valentine's Day with Stacey Bess

On Valentine's Day, we had a great party! We opened our Valentine's which had lots of cards with tattoo's, toys, and some candy. After opening their bags, they enjoyed some fruit from the fruit buffet we had. I also couldn't resist and let them enjoy 2 pieces of candy! Of course, the messiest and most colorful candy of all was a huge hit! Fun Dip is a great way to turn mouths green and blue and get the sugar rush going! After enjoying the valentine's, we played a little freeze dance before recess.

At the end of the day we had a guest speaker. Her name was Stacey Bess. Mrs. Bess is a teacher from Salt Lake City who taught at a homeless shelter. She taught the students lessons about the small things in life we take for granted. Her ultimate message that she ended with was to include people who don't have anyone else to play with on the playground. She showed the students many artifacts from students who she used to teach and impacted her life. I think some kids really understood her message and took it very serious. She has written a book which was made into a movie. The movie name is "Beyond the Blackboard".

Enjoy some picture from our day :)

  5. Valentine's Day with Stacey Bess!! Oh my god, it was a day well spent with so much fun. I also would be hosting a grand party for my cousin’s baby shower and thinking to go with the rainbow theme. I hope everything is going to fit in my budget. The biggest challenge is to find affordable LA event venues. Can you share any recommendations?
